The challenge
The ask. INNIO, a global energy solutions provider, needed two industrial energy engines and their accessories moved from Welland, Ontario to a buyer in Qingdao, China, with delivery required before December 2025.
The complication. The cargo demanded expert handling from the very first pickup: specialized permits, precise oversized equipment loading in Canada, and a safe, compliant stuffing process to secure the engines inside 40' Flat Rack containers for the ocean crossing.
The prior attempts. The client had already gone looking for a solution. No other forwarder or logistics provider could offer the combination of expertise, local Canadian rates and timing needed to get the engines to their buyer on schedule.
The deadline. MQB didn't take possession of the engines until September, just months before the December deadline, with no room for a second attempt at getting them loaded and onto a vessel.
What was at stake
This wasn't a shipment with room for a second attempt. Two industrial energy engines had to leave Welland, Ontario and reach the buyer in Qingdao before December 2025, and every day spent waiting at the Port of Montreal for space, paperwork or a vessel slot ate directly into that runway.

MQB's specialized trucking team picked up and loaded the engines directly from the shipper's facility in Welland, Ontario, and moved them to MQB's CFS warehouse in Montreal.
40' Flat Rack containers secured
MQB confirmed availability and secured empty 40' Flat Rack containers from the shipping line, so equipment was ready and waiting the moment the cargo arrived in Montreal.
Transloading and stuffing to ocean standard
The engines and accessories were transloaded, stuffed and secured onto the Flat Racks at MQB's Montreal warehouse, meeting ocean carrier standards for safe sea freight transport.
On schedule to Qingdao
The loaded containers were returned on time to make the scheduled vessel departure from the Port of Montreal to Qingdao, with the shipper and the client in China kept informed at every step.
The results
Executed without a single delay, unexpected cost, or disruption.
